Add a Pop of Patina and Protect Your Perfect Paint Project with New Soft Wax from Real Milk Paint Co.

My Mom and I don’t always see eye-to-eye on everything.

For example, she loves black jelly beans. I think they are disgusting.

I think this cool vintage hutch our Awesome Delivery Crew picked up a few weekends ago should be painted white. She’s leaning towards red.

There are, however, two things we both absolutely, 100% totally agree on:

  1. We always like to try out new products before offering them for sale at All Things New Again.
  2. Real Milk Paint Company’s new soft waxes ROCK!

Real Milk Paint Company is the environmentally-friendly, non-toxic line of milk paint we carry at All Things New Again in Leesburg, Virginia. They are always coming out with cool new products like Chippy Paste and these new Soft Waxes, which come in five colors: Clear, Ebony, Dark Brown, Gray and White.

What Mom and I like best about Real Milk Paint’s Soft Waxes is that they are not stinky. At all.

And they go on smooooooooth like buttah!

The Soft Waxes are made mostly from bee’s wax with a bit of carnauba wax, a natural product derived from a special type of palm tree that grows in Brazil.

The waxes provide a matte sheen, but dry hard to protect your wonderful paint job and give your work that fine-furniture “feel” that you just don’t get with hardware store latex paints. The colored waxes pull double-duty by adding a nice patina to your work while they protect it.

Here is the Gray Wax applied in the carving of an elegant side table my Mom painted recently. The contrasting color of the wax accentuates the details and is an easy way to add another layer of dimension and visual interest to your painted pieces.

Soft Wax is super-easy to use. Just apply with a brush or a rag and then buff off the excess with a clean cloth.

I repeated the process a few times to build up layers of color on this project. I used the new Gray Wax over Real Milk Paint’s black color called Arabian Nights to give it a soft whitewashed look and enhance the vintage character of the table.

Here’s my Mom’s table …

And here’s mine …

Both tables and a large selection of Real Milk Paint Co. products are available for sale at our store All Things New Again in Leesburg, VA.

Real Milk Paint’s Soft Wax is a great tool to have in your painter’s bag of tricks.

Mom and I agree that you should give it a try! 🙂

❤ Courtney
