You are cordially invited to create a home you love to live in.
A few weeks ago, somebody asked me what do we do here at All Things New Again? Well, we do a lot of things. We paint and sell one-of-a-kind furniture. And sell several lines of paint and supplies. We also teach people how to paint furniture and use our products.
Furniture. Paint. Classes. We do a lot more, but those are the biggies. It even says so in our logo.
That’s nice, they said. … But that’s not it.
And then they asked me a different way.
What is the overall “thing” that All Things New Again is all about?
That’s when it hit me:
All Things New Again helps you create a home you love to live in.
What does it mean to create a home you love to live in? And why is that important?
For me, it means my home is
I want our home to simply feel good every time we walk through the door.
The world can be a scary place.
I want our home to be a refuge for my family and for me.
I want our home to be the place where we can exhale after a tough day, the place where we laugh so hard our bellies hurt, the place where we fill up on all the good food — and all the good stuff in life — so we can go back out in the world and be amazing.
What about you?
- What does it mean for you to create a home you love to live in?
- What is truly important to you and your family?
- And how can your home support that?
Think about it. Write down your thoughts. And refer to it as you are doing home improvement projects throughout the year.
This isn’t about designing a home that follows all of the latest decorating trends to compete with everyone else’s home. It’s about designing a home that feels good for you and your family. That’s going to look different for everyone – and that’s all part of the fun.
Here’s a conversation we had over on our All Things New Again Facebook page last week where I talked about the concept of kaizen. Little by little, making small improvements over time make a big difference — in all areas of life really, but I’m focusing on this concept in my home.
(I’m happy to report all of the Christmas decorations are packed up and neatly put away!)
Now it’s time for the fun. Now it’s time to look around my home and see where I can make it a little more comfortable, a little more functional and a little more beautiful.
I invite you to do the same.
Do you have a spot that always seems to collect all the clutter? Maybe you need a piece of furniture there that looks beautiful AND offers extra storage. Here are a few ideas.
Is your furniture perfectly functional … but doesn’t perfectly reflect your style? Custom furniture painting is an affordable way to update your home.
