The Coffee with Courtney Book Club 2020 kicks off this month with one weird question.
What color is your slipcover?
I told you it was kind of weird. 🙂

It’s also the title of our new book for the Coffee with Courtney Book Club 2020!
What Color Is Your Slipcover? How Discovering Your Design Personality Can Help You Create the Home of Your Dreams is written by Denny Daikeler.
You can purchase the book here. (This is an affiliate link. To read our full disclosure, please click here.)
Please note: You don’t have to buy the book to participate in our book club. I’ll explain that in more detail in a minute. I’ll also tell you how you can enter our giveaway for a chance to win a free copy of the book. But first, let me tell you first why I chose this book.
What Color Is Your Slipcover?
Ms. Daikeler is an interior designer and interfaith minister. At first glance, those might seem like totally different career paths. But she blends them together nicely with the belief that your home is a sacred place. It should be designed to support your family in the activities—and the life—you love.
I first stumbled upon this book at my local library a few years ago. I used it to re-do my living room. Here’s the story. I’ve made a few tweaks here and there over the years, but my living room is basically still the same. And I still love it—and use it every day.
Ms. Daikeler wants your home to look beautiful, of course. But she also wants it to feel good.
For you.
And your family.
You know—the people who actually live there, not the people who edit home design magazines or style photos for Instagram.
She doesn’t blindly follow current home trends or copy Pinterest boards to design a room. (As beautiful as those Pinterest boards may be.)
Instead, she sits down and tries to really get to know her clients first. She works with them to design a home that fits their needs along with their style preferences. In the book, she shares her process along with practical exercises to help us discover what we really love and what will make us happy in our homes, our sacred places.
That will be different for each person. And I think that will be part of the fun of the Coffee with Courtney Book Club 2020.
Coffee with Courtney
Coffee with Courtney is a live Facebook chat I host on Monday mornings at 10 am (eastern time) over in the All Things New Again Artisans Group. It’s about a 15 to 20 minute live, interactive video chat — just long enough for a coffee break.
I love our awesome group of people who join us every Monday. We would love for you to join us too! We chat about all sorts of things, encourage each other and try to start off each week on a positive note.

The Coffee with Courtney Book Club is usually held on the first Monday of the month. However, I will be out of town on January 6 so we will do our book club discussion on January 13 instead. That gives everyone a little more time to enter our giveaway for a free copy of the book.
Free Book Giveaway!
The giveaway has ended. Thank you to everyone who entered … and congratulations to our winner Patti!
To enter the giveaway, simply head over to the All Things New Again Artisans Group and follow the instructions on the post pinned at the top of the page. I will randomly draw one winner on January 13 during the live Coffee with Courtney video. You must be a member of the group for your entry to be valid.
Book Club 2020
Remember earlier when I said you don’t have to actually read the book to participate in the Coffee with Courtney Book Club? (Although I highly recommend it!) Everyone is welcome to tune in and participate if you’ve done the reading for that month or not. That’s the nice thing about our book club. No pressure here!
I’ll hit some key messages from each chapter, everyone is welcome to participate in the discussion and we’ll have a challenge straight from the book every month.
I like this book because I think it is relatable across all seasons of life. If you just moved to a new home and aren’t sure what your style is, this book is perfect. If you have lived in your home for years, it is probably a good time to declutter and refresh for your life right now.
Everyone deserves a home that looks—and feels—amazing!
I hope you will join us on Monday, January 13 for the first Coffee with Courtney Book Club 2020!
Here’s the link again to the All Things New Again Artisans Group. This is the spot where Coffee with Courtney happens on Monday mornings at 10 am (eastern time). It’s also where you look for the post pinned at the top of the page for instructions on how to enter our FREE BOOK GIVAWAY.

Let’s take the time this year to discover what we truly love and how we can transform our homes into sacred spaces. I’m looking forward to the journey and I hope you will join me.
Happy New Year!
Love,
Courtney
