An old dresser painted in a stunning color is the perfect way to make any bedroom look gorgeous. Well-made and sturdy, vintage dressers often have amazing details that you just don’t find on modern-day, mass-produced furniture.

Re-inventing old furniture that somebody else no longer wants or needs is a more sustainable way of decorating your home, of course.
But it’s also a wonderful opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind look you love.
Choosing an old dresser painted in a beautiful new look gives you the creative freedom to personalize your room to perfectly reflect your style.
We love old dressers here at All Things New Again!
Here is a vintage dresser Cathy made new again with a little paint, new hardware and a few extra-special touches. This aqua dresser is for sale. We offer local delivery in the Northern Virginia/DC metro area and ship our furniture nationwide.
Or if you are looking to re-create this look on an old dresser painted at home, we included the products used at the bottom of this post. Happy Painting!

Old Dresser Painted with Real Milk Paint

Aaah! This color! It’s Beach Glass from the Real Milk Paint Company, the all-natural milk paint we sell at our shop. And that fabulous chippiness? That’s what milk paint does when you get out of the way and let it do it’s thing.
Milk paint comes in dozens of beautiful colors and is a really good choice for enhancing the vintage look on a furniture makeover. When applied over oil-based finishes, milk paint tends to chip.
Real Milk Paint Co. also has a product called Chippy Paste to help you achieve that wonderfully chippy vintage look on any finish.
Here’s our tutorial: How to Create a Vintage Look on Furniture with Real Milk Paint and Chippy Paste
However, Cathy didn’t need Chippy Paste on this piece. It chipped all on its own — with beautiful results.

To contrast the aqua blue on the base, Cathy painted the top of this dresser a rich espresso brown. Dixie Belle Paint Company’s Coffee Bean is our go-to color when we want to evoke the rich tones of wood grain.
